Overview

Hera Health Tech is a UAE-based FemTech / FertilityTech startup building an AI patient-support companion for fertility clinics. We partnered with Hera's founders to design and ship the mobile app end-to-end, a React Native client, a Serverless-framework API on AWS Lambda, a LlamaIndex retrieval layer over Hera's verified clinical knowledge base, and a Strapi-powered dual CMS (Admin CMS for the medical content team, Clinic CMS for partner clinics). HIPAA and GDPR controls were designed in from week one. The product launched as an MVP in three months and is now an ongoing engagement.

The challenge

Make AI feel like a clinically-trained assistant, without losing the empathy patients actually need.

Fertility care is high-stakes, deeply personal, and surrounded by misinformation. Hera's founders set out to combine medically accurate feedback with a compassionate user experience. The product had to profile every patient's behaviour and preferences, ground every answer in Hera's verified medical knowledge, and stay safe under HIPAA and GDPR.

Our approach

RAG over verified clinical content, an AI persona over a structured patient profile, all on a serverless AWS stack.

We shipped a React Native app with onboarding, profile management, suggested questions, and an AI chat that retrieves over Hera's verified content via LlamaIndex. A Serverless framework API on AWS keeps inference and content delivery latency low; Strapi powers an Admin CMS for the medical team and a Clinic CMS for partner sites. Every layer was designed for HIPAA + GDPR compliance from week one, and shipped as a working MVP in three months.
